REFLECTION FOR DAY EIGHT

This is the last day for our EIR lessons. I think I have learnt a lot of things through this CDS. It is useful for our future study. While doing these researches I not only learn how to use different search engine but also learnt to evaluate the website. These made my research become more reliable.

Besides that I think I have enjoyed all eight days while in school. My classmates especially Taqinah she is so cute and funny. She made our class bond together and also have fun. She is very helpful as well , she helped us open the door when we need to come in . I like her!!!!!!!!
Our lecturer and tutor Ms Faridah is such a kind teacher I have ever met. She is so helpful and approachable whenever we have doubts . Her pleasant appearance make us comfortable and calm . Ms Faridah : I like you!!!!
Now let me introduce our PIG member it is the short form of PRINCESS INTEREST GROUP .Our group members are : president – princess taqinah, vice –president :Larry , Zach , Kean ,and me! We had our own self orientation on the second day of School Discovery Programme since we think that IIT School should include orientation as well. We played a few games and we really enjoyed ourselves.

I think the most important lesson that I learnt from EIR is that we need to evaluate the website while doing our research since there are still many problems exists in internet for examples like too much information , lack of standards and useless information. Hence I think it is quite important to evaluate the website before we take the resources.

Today is the last day of EIR . Although the CDS is going to end soon however our study and friendships will never end.

REFLECTION FOR DAY SEVEN

Here comes the second last day of School Discovery Programme.YEH! Here is what I have learnt today. In the morning was the test OH MY GOD! I just pass only so scary. I don’t like tests it made me feel headache the choices are so confused!!

After test we continue doing our final portfolio. I kept on disturbing taqinah since she is so funny. HAHA… I had finished mine already. But I think still need to add more things since my explanations are not so clear.

Then we moved on to Wiki. We did research and then post. I felt it is quite useful for us to share our knowledge and experience on wiki. Since everyone get involved. Our topic is Ethics using Social Networking Services. At first I don’t even understand the meaning of it . Later on someone posted the definitions of ethics and social networking services .hence I got a better understanding on this topic. Then I added on the history of social networking and services and the benefits of it. I felt very excited to share the knowledge I have learnt through research. Hence I found wiki is meaningful.

However it is not meaningful all the time since some of my classmates accidentally delete other people’s work I think it is quite wasted for people who actually put a lot of effort in it.

I think I would use wiki for some researches in my own diplomas the reason is because I found I can get more information from wiki and the topics are specific as well however the trustfulness we still need to consider since everyone can edit on it. Moreover the resources for wiki might not be reliable as well.

REFLECTION FOR DAY SIX

Today we have done the Evaluation of Internet Resource . We used the template provided to evaluate the usefulness of the website . We followed the instructions on the template . We were focused on purpose , coverage , authority, accuracy, currency, accessibility, presentation and arrangement, usability and overall quality. Through this evaluation activity I think I have gained knowledge on how to find useful resources to avoid usefulness websites . Before this activity we may not very focused on what is the website about and it’s coverage , currency and so on however this affect the accuracy of my research hence I think I need to continue doing this for my future researches.

Then we moved on to MY DREAM HOLIDAY which I have done my reflection posted on my blog already so I won’t mention so much about it.

Finally we formed group of four to evaluate the study of YOUTUBE. I found it is quite interesting to this since everyone in our class voiced out their opinions. Through this activity I actually think deeper on YOUTUBE than before such as privacy and influence. Then for the future direction of YOUTUBE it may continue developing and keep on going. I think more functions will be available as well.

I feel very tired today . We are going to have MCQ test again. SOoooooo stress…

MY DREAM HOLIDAY

Denmark

Denmark is the country I dreamed to go since I was young. It is a "fairy-tale"

country with lives and dreams. It is such a beautiful country which is difficult to descripe in words .

Location:Northern Europe, bordering the Baltic Sea and the North Sea, on a peninsula north of Germany (Jutland); also includes two major islands (Sjaelland and Fyn)

I have gotten the information from this website which is called lonely planet which is quite authorative in travelling .It contains online forum and travelling services hence I think it is organisational.

The Danes are, overwhelmingly, a happy bunch. In fact, if you believe those contentment surveys that come out every couple of years, Denmark is one of the happiest nations on earth with some of the best quality of life. Along winding cobbled streets Danes shop and dine at some of the most exciting places in Europe.

DENMARK is such a country full of happines and energy . With peace and comfortable living environment DARMENT is my favourate country . Of course I hope I can live and stay there foever not only for the trip.HAHA:]

The environment of the country is also very good since it use natural energy such as windmiles and water to produce energy. I like the country with clean and good habitat.

REFLECTION FOR DAY FIVE

We got test today! I was very nervous in the morning because this is my first test for EIR.Oh my god. The test is only about 20 minuts which means that we have to be fast and accurate. This is so scary! Luckily I scored 17/20 in the end. Finally the test end! Let's start playing!!!

We were discussed on things from this website www.talkingcock.com. It was supper funny however some contents are funny but have meaning behind it. I think the authour of each article has his/her own opinion on the way he/she look at things.

We supposed to come a role play on how th foreigner will react on these articles . Some may think that these articles should not be published because they affect their images. For our role play since we were too concentrate on playing and talking we did not prepare so much .So in the end we just say something randomly especially me. haha.I think next time I should be more serious in my work.

After the presentation of other groups I think Singaporean and government should take care the foreign workers in Singapore as well since they also contribute to our society .We should include them as far as possible so that they can continue staying in Singapore and contribute to our economy. For foreign worker I think they should stand on themselves. Also be more responsible to their actions Singapore because how they react things actually reflect people from their countries . It is quite important to maintain a good image for people from your country. After I have read a passage which is about some local people think the japanese emperor like giant robot although it is not a good discription but somehow it links to how people in Singapore feel about Japanese . However I don't think this passage represent all Singaporeans .
